Transition Instructions
Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. It is recommended to follow at least a 7-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Day 7, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.

Velcro closing

Adam likes the new food. He transitioned over without any problems. To me it's expensive but if it means his life it's worth it. I'm not too keen on the velcro closing. There's no way to keep the air out of the bag and I'm afraid it's going to get stale before he finishes the bag. That's great with my arthritis for closing the bag. Does anyone have any suggestions besides putting it in another container? Thank you for your suggestions in advance. Adam's mom

After a snafu with the vet/prescription service, Oliver went onto a non-prescription formula 'weight management' food - which, combined with a lazy person (me!), allowed for the accumulation of many unwanted pounds. Now, at long last, we are phasing the Metabolic Balance back into his diet. We are both looking forward to a reduction of these unwanted pounds. It has performed wonderfully in the past, and although gradual, it truly does help reduce and maintain his weight at a healthy level.

Our Maggie has become happier & bouncy. She plays more & is more active & has lost some of her weight since she's been on the Hill's RX Diet Metabolic food. The difference in her is very noticeable. When we rescued her, she was an awful mess. She's been with us for over three years now & her coat now shines, she grins all the time & since we put her on Hill's she literally bounces up & down when it time to eat.

I write this for others with small dogs . Mine our mini Dachsunds. The size is large. I add 1/4 cup plus hot water, sit 12 minutes and cut into small pieces and they eat it just fine.

It's to soon to tell if he is going to lose some weight eating this weight management dog food but he is eating it just fine. The kibble is a bit large for his little mouth (mini-dachshund) but he is very food motivated so no matter how hard to eat his food is, he will find a way! :)
